- (2015) Costa Rica announced that it will develop a National Policy on Wetlands, in a period of one year, with the goal of addressing threats to its wetlands and associated resources.
- (2015) Costa Rica announced that it will develop a National Plan for the Use of the Ocean, in a period of no more than two years, with the goal of coordinating all the institutional, social, and economic players in one common strategy for the conservation and sustainable use of its marine and coastal resources.
- (2015) Costa Rica announced that it will host the Second Meeting of the Signatories of the Memorandum of Understanding on the Conservation of Migratory Sharks in San Jose February 2016.
- (2015) Costa Rica announced that it will develop in the next two years a National Policy to combat marine debris.
